Camera Lock...?

I would like to know how to get the camera to "Lock" into an area.

Not onto a specific unit
But more like an area, that way that you cant view other areas without leaving.


It would bevery helpful in my current map project

I think i found it, its in Actions for setting camera bounds to -Region- right?

Much easier to have an invisible unit and lock the camera on that.

I meant in the region, not where you cant move the camera at all

Right. Well boundaries will fuck up your minimap, but if you don't care about that, then yeah, that's he easy way.

EDIT: I'd make a system that periodically checks the camera's x and y coordinates and compares it to the region in question. If the coordinates are no longer in the region, the system finds the closest valid point and snaps the camera there. This way people can't scroll out of the region, but still see a working minimap.

EDIT2: I use a similar system in Maze Designer to prevent players sliding out of their areas or messing with somebody else's maze by drawing over it.

Personally, I really wouldnt care if there was or wasnt a Minimap lol.

I want to make it so you cant memorize areas as easy by just looking at the map.

And i literally mean, Can Not leave that area unless you go to a different area.

Sorta like this is a text map with dashed lines being what you can see and Q being everything else that you cant see unless you enter that region/areas
