Windows 10 start menu "Remove from device history" is stupid

Unread post by 3ICE »

I posted a comment on Reddit, but it'll never be seen by anyone there. 4 months old thread with 2 upvotes and 1 comment. (Now 2, if we count mine.)

Just ran into this issue myself. I didn't see the logic behind the existence of "Remove from device history" in the context menu, so I wanted to see for myself what would happen if I tried it... So I clicked this new option on Total Commander, and now I quickly want to undo that stupid, stupid action. (Because I can no longer open my favorite application by typing the first few letters of its name!)

No results on Google aside from this one abandoned Reddit thread.

How to undo this? How do we edit/change/reset the removed entries? How do we customize what results appear for our favorite searches? I like to only type one letter and hit enter. But sometimes the wrong app opens. E.g.: Excel instead of Explorer, File Explorer instead of Firefox, Calculator instead of Chrome, TeamViewer instead of Total Commander, etc.
