DpHost Authentication Service doesn't respond to stop message

DpHost DpHostW.exe Authentication Service Error 1053 - The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion:

Hangs indefinitely instead of stopping, slowing my PC down. (5-10 seconds long freeze during shutdown)

DigitalPersona version: 5.30.252a (Others didn't work with my Windows 8 system)

That's sad. Why did the support request form even let me ask for help if you don't actually provide it?
EOL'd products shouldn't be listed among the rest.
