Subject: Spelling mistake in contest rules + wrong (us-only) links in eu blog post + two questions + bonus
To: <Arcade@blizzard.com>

Hi,

I found a spelling mistake in the lawyers' version of the contest rules ( https://bnetcmsus-a.akamaihd.net/cms/page_media/nn/NN13FCPBDEMD1496373942051.pdf ):

Utilizing the foreging entry process ... it should be spelled forgoing or foregoing instead.
What you wrote there is the word for an ancient, "food gatherer" occupation. Foraging* oops. Oh well, on to my next point;

Also, there are incompatible, US-only links posted to the EU arcade blog at http://eu.battle.net/arcade/en/blog/20799757/top-ten-revealed-play-vote-win-2017-02-06-2017
... Here's correct, working links for EU:

Armory Retaking
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200126

Construction Yard
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/198601

Cradle of Death
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/198233

Death from Above
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/198595

Immortal Siege
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/199582

Mercenary Business
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/198924

Part and Parcel
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200016

Primal Ascension
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/199343

Scavenger Hunt
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/198609

Solar Right
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200098

Lastly; two questions / requests:

It was absolutely not made clear whether we are required to play in the US.battle.net region to be eligible. I played everything in the EU.battle.net region. Hope it was the right thing to do. Please confirm.

And the 10 minutes minimum rule is only in the full rules too. Almost lost two points because of it!

And a bonus question: Why, when I go to copy a custom map link in-game, the protocol has two colons after it? Like this:
battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200016

I think one colon should be enough, like this:
battlenet://starcraft/map/2/200016

battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200016 (strange URI format)
vs
battlenet://starcraft/map/2/200016 (usual URI format)

Better visible in a Fixed width font:

Code: Select all

battlenet:://starcraft/map/2/200016
battlenet://starcraft/map/2/200016
Sincerely,
Daniel "3ICE" Berezvai

My email was featured on Reddit too, hooray!

Comments:
[+2] Some guy in the comment section of EU blog said that links are NA, because someone at blizzard just copipasted them without changing and provided actual links for EU maps:
some guy wrote: Incompetent US links... Here's for EU:

Unfortunately I'm just "some guy" there. Oh well, my work still helped some :) even if I got no credit.
