i do everything but triggers, they make absolutely no sense

Triggers do make sense, it just takes a few days/weeks to learn them all.
Look at heavily triggered maps made by other people and learn from them.

Also, if you all out hate triggering, you can chose to not do any by dedicating yourself to terraining maps for other people.
